Solidarity in the Streets Event Recap

On October 3rd, MSA and the Eastside Skatepark Taskforce were fortunate enough to join the Solidarity Street Gallery event, promoting artists and small businesses along the Payne Avenue business corridor. With the help of Mantecoso Skateparks and Ramp-Parts, we set-up a skate demo in the parking lot on York and Payne that the taskforce has identified has the location of the proposed Payne-Phalen skatepark.

At Caydence Coffee & Records, taskforce members and friends displayed skate related art. Outside, we engaged with community members, sharing information about our project and getting feedback. We had folks fill out a survey about the potential park, and also sold Taskforce gear to raise funds for the project.
